CHICAGO-Wayfair has taken the number one spot in Internet Retailer magazine’s first-ever Best Digital Marketers in E-commerce rankings.
The publication said it based its evaluation on an exclusive algorithm that weighs a number of metrics across four marketing channels—email, paid search, organic search and social media—which singled out the retailers that are most efficiently and effectively drawing consumers to their sites and apps to make purchases.
“Wayfair’s well-rounded efforts across email, social media marketing, organic search and especially paid search—the company more than doubled its monthly paid search spending from $1.05 million in 2014 to $4.14 million last year, according to Internet Retailer data—drove its placement,” the magazine said.
Last year, Wayfair ranked 33rd on Internet Retailer’s listing of the top 500 e-retailers in the United States and Canada, with $1.3 billion in sales in 2014. The company finished 32nd on HFN’s list of the Top 50 U.S. home furnishings retailers.
